John J. Volk, 87, of Brunswick, passed away Friday, March 28, 2014. He was born May 11, 1926, to John A. and Anna Volk in Windber, Pennsylvania.
Mr. Volk was a proud Veteran of the United States Navy, serving during WWII. He retired from Ford Motor Company.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Helen; loving children, Joseph, Carole (Howard), Diane, Irene (Brian), Susan; cherished grandchildren, Juliet, Natalie, Amanda (Phillip), Jenna (Keith), Amy, Joe (Suzanne), Megan (Seth), Kimberlee (Justin), Tim (Meagan), Ben (Lauren), Collin, (Alyson), Jordan; and his 11 adored great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Margaret. (Charles).
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends may join the family for visitation Sunday, March 30, 2014, from 4 to 8 P.M., at Carlson Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, 1642 Pearl Road (1/2 mile South of Rt 303), Brunswick. An 11 A.M. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, March 31, 2014, at St. Colette’s Parish Church, 330 W. 130th St. Brunswick, with Father William Krizner as the Celebrant. (Please meet at the Church). Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Valley City.
The family requests, in lieu of flowers, a Mass of Remembrance, in John’s name would be appreciated.
