Flossie Maggard, 87, of Brunswick, passed away peacefully Thursday, January 9, 2014. She was born October 16, 1926, to the late Heb and Daisy (nee Waites) Wade in Cumberland, Kentucky.
Flossie was an Awana’s teacher at Grace Baptist Church for several years, as well as a bookkeeper for Brunswick City Schools. She enjoyed cooking, baking and sewing, but most of all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Flossie will be deeply missed by her loving daughters, Deborah (Mark) Eubanks of Largo, Florida and Denise Symonds of Brunswick; treasured grandchildren, Travis (Diana) Davis, Kimberly (Brian) Nearpass, Aimee (Ken) Herman, Lauren (Tom) Snyderburn and Ethan Symonds; cherished great-grandchildren, Matthew, Colin, Jaycee, Tyler, Gavin, Everett, Gabriella and Miles; and sister, Margie Jo Josey. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, James; and brother, Roy Wade.
Family will receive friends Sunday, January 12, 2014, from 4 until 8 P.M., at Waite and Son Funeral Home, 3300 Center Road, Brunswick 44212. Service will be held Monday, January 13, 2014, at 11 A.M., in the funeral home, with Reverend Carson Hall officiating. Burial will follow at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens in Brunswick.
