Charles Edward Hargis, 79, of Creston, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 4, 2014, at the Wooster Community Hospital. Charles was born October 6, 1934 in Detroit, Michigan, to the late Gilbert and Floretta (Broyles) Hargis.
He married the love of his life, Juanita Glass, July 28,1956 and she preceded him in death on February 9, 2012. He retired from the City of Strongsville after 21 years of service. He had lived in Creston since 2001, having previously lived in Wooster and Strongsville.
Surviving are his two children, Tina (Ronald )Shaw of Homerville and Thomas (Tracey) Hargis of Wadsworth; grandchildren, Joseph (Oshean) Shaw, Jonathan (Ashley) Shaw, Lauren (Cory) Dreibelbis, Jamie (Justin) Haumesser and Holly (Chris) Traxler; great-grandchildren, Shawn, Madison, Lillith, Coltin Ryan, Emma and Justin; and a brother, James (Katherine) Hargis.
He was preceded in death by his wife; a grandson, Jeffrey Shaw; and a sister, Annis Srnoyachki.
The Hargis family will receive friends at Genesis Conference and Party Center, 10265 Wooster Pike Road, Creston, Ohio, Saturday, February 22, 2014, from 12 until 4 P.M.
