Belva J. Tochinsky, 82, of Lafayette Township, passed away Sunday, April 28, 2013, in Strongsville. She was born December 5, 1930, in Lodi, to the late Hugh and Thelma (Young) Buchanan.
Belva taught at Chatham Elementary and Cloverleaf Schools for 30 years, and especially enjoyed teaching children reading. She was a member of Eastern Star for 65 years, and a lifetime member of Waltz United Methodist Church.
Belva is survived by her daughter, Carol (George) Scheiman; grandchildren, Chasitity, Andrew W. (Sarah) Tochinsky, Christin (Adam) Crum and Keiti Ligtvoet; great grandchildren, Addison, Lilly, Danni and Andy; and her brother, Charles (Gretchen) Buchanan; and many special nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Fred W. Tochinsky, in 1997; and her son, Andy H. Tochinsky, in 1979.
Service will be 11 A.M., Friday, May 3, 2013, at Waite & Son Funeral Home, 765 N. Court St., Medina. Reverend James Patterson will officiate, with burial to follow at Waltz Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4, and 6 to 8 P.M., Thursday, May 2, 2013, at the funeral home.
