Stanley Gordon Grant, 87, passed away Tuesday, April 5, 2016. He was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on June 21, 1928, to the late Leland E. and Florence I. (Kenney) Grant.
Stanley honorably served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was employed at Firestone in Akron as the Marketing Research Manager and assistant to the president. After Firestone, he was a realtor for Smythe Cramer in Medina for many years.
He volunteered at Medina Hospital for 17 years and was an avid reader. Stanley was a dedicated fan of the Wisconsin Badgers and Green Bay Packers. He loved fishing and enjoyed vacationing in northern Wisconsin.
Stanley is survived by his wife, Patricia (Johnson) Grant; children, Nancy (Darrell) Datte, Lori Grant, Steven (Jeanne) Grant; stepchildren, Beccie Lauer, Chellie Sprang, Cindy (Bill) Chesson; grandchildren, Leah Grant, Dawn (A.J.) Lepore, Lindsay Reed, James Grant, Kayla Datte and great-grandson, Brody.
He was preceded in death by his son, David Grant and brothers, Whitney and Dean Grant.
Funeral services will be held at 1 P.M., Saturday, April 9, 2016 at Living Word Lutheran Church, 3631 Hamilton Rd., Medina. The family will receive friends from 11 A.M. to 1 P.M., Saturday at the church prior to service. Private family burial with Military Honors will take place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery at a later date.
