Daniel J. Timko, 72, of Valley City, passed away Friday, October 9, 2015. Dan was born January 1, 1943 in Cleveland. He resided in Cuyahoga County prior to moving to Valley City 30 years ago.
Dan had worked as a drafting engineer with Bethlehem Steel for many years. After retiring, he served as manager at Palmer’s Restaurant in Strongsville. Dan had served in the United States Air Force from 1961-1965. He enjoyed a good game of cards with friends and loved to go fishing. Dan had a great personality and loved to lend a hand to his friends and family when in need of help.
He will be greatly missed by all the lives he has touched.
He is survived by his sister, Beverly Hawkins of Strongsville and many extended family members.
Dan was preceded in death by his parents, Ann and Steve Slota and his brother-in-law, Richard Hawkins.
Calling hours will be from 4 to 8 P.M., Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at the Bauer Funeral Home, 2089 Columbia Road, Valley City. A Service will be held at the 8 P.M., following the calling hours. Burial will be held at Ohio Western Reserve Cemetery, Rittman. Committal Service will be 10 A.M., Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman, please meet at the entrance at 9:45 A.M.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials may be made to the charity of donor’s choice.
