Sandra (Reiter) Pollick

Sandra (Reiter) Pollick, of West Salem, passed away at the age of 71, Sunday, November 25, 2012. She was born August 29, 1941 in Cleveland, and was the daughter of the late Murray “Bob” and Margaret Reiter of Brook Park.

She was a member of the American Legion Post 499 Auxiliary of West Salem, Fraternal Order of the Eagles Ladies Auxiliary, Medina, Aeries #2224, TOPS Lodi, St. Stephen Catholic Church, Senior Citizens and 50 plus club of West Salem. She was also a Red Cross Bloodmobile volunteer. She proudly received her GED in 1995 at the age of 54. Sandy was an avid bingo player and caller, softball player and enjoyed caring for the elderly and spending time with her friends. She was very involved in all of her children’s activities and dearly loved her five granddaughters. She married Joseph Pollick on September 2, 1961 in Cleveland.

She is survived by her husband, Joe of West Salem; son, Joe (Pam) Pollick of Wooster; daughter, Marge (Tom) Gaffney of Akron; daughter, Donna (Lou) Neville of Brunswick; grandchildren, Julianne Pollick, Angela Pollick, Cara Gaffney, Erin Gaffney and Gina Neville; sisters, Beverly (John) Kleinholz of Sharon Center, Marlene Hess of South Carolina and Vicki (Leo) Chainey of Columbia Station; as well as 21 nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Pollick was preceded in death by an infant child, Baby Girl Pollick; brothers, Ronald Reiter and Jerry Reiter; sisters, Jacqueline Moore and Darlene Berkey.

Funeral Mass will be Monday, December 3, 2012 at 11 A.M. at St. Stephen Catholic Church in West Salem, with Rev Carl Uhler officiating. Friends will be received at the Matteson Funeral Home, 40 Congress Street, West Salem, Sunday, December 2, 2012 from 2 to 5 P.M. Burial will be at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman.

Memorial contributions may be given to St. Stephen Catholic Church, 44 Britton Street, West Salem, OH 44287.
