Phyllis Hodge

Hodge_PhyllisPhyllis Hodge, 76, of Rittman, formerly of Brunswick, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, April 2, 2015. She was born October 12, 1938 in West Hamlin, West Virginia, to the late Homer and Lottie (Flowers) Chaney.

Phyllis married Charles “Billy” Hodge on December 21, 1956, in New Hamlin, West Virginia. He preceded her in death on November 16, 2007. She was a lifetime member of the Brunswick VFW Auxiliary, enjoyed going on road trips to the casino in West Virginia, spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and watching her Jerry Lewis and Dean Martin movies.

She is survived by her daughter, Phyllis “Jean” (Butch) Stroup of Rittman; brother, Cephas “Gene” Chaney of Colorado; grandson, Aaron (Melanie) Stroup of Wooster; granddaughter, Rebecca Stroup of Rittman; great grandchildren, Leah, Anna, and Emma; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; brother, Dally Chaney; and sisters, Sarah Chandler, Ida Midkiff, and Irene Walls.

Funeral Service will be at 11:30 A.M., Monday, April 6, 2015, at Auble-Gillman Funeral Home, 360 W. Sunset Dr., Rittman, with Aaron C. Stroup officiating. Interment will be at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 10 to 11:30 A.M., Monday prior to the service.
