Mrs. Marilyn T. Williams

Mrs. Marilyn T. Williams, 83, a former resident of New Philadelphia, passed away peacefully Friday, February 28, 2014, at Sunset Village in Sylvania, Ohio, of complications from Alzheimer’s disease.

Born in Uhrichsville, Ohio, she was a graduate of Uhrichsville High School and received her Bachelor’s Degree in Speech and Hearing Therapy from Ohio University and later received her Master’s Degree in Speech and Language Pathology from Kent State University. Mrs. Williams was a speech and hearing therapist for the New Philadelphia City Schools for many years, after which she was a substitute therapist in several school districts in Tuscarawas and Holmes Counties. She possessed a special concern for her students and those less fortunate than herself. She considered her family as her greatest accomplishment.

Mrs. Williams is survived by four children, including Douglas C. (Missy) Williams of Granger Township, Reverend Carol Ann (Marc) Williams-Young of Toledo, Craig R. (Cindy) Williams of Cincinnati, and David J. Williams of Baltimore, Maryland. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, including Julianne and Allison Williams of Granger Township.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 22, 2014, at 11 A.M., in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home at New Philadelphia, with Reverend Carol Williams-Young officiating.
