Phyllis Jean Martin, 89, passed away Saturday, March 1, 2014. Phyllis was born in East Liverpool, on January 12, 1925 to the late Roland and Thelma (Johnson) Edgar. She lived in Brunswick, for over 40 years.
For many years she worked at Mapleside Farms and in the bakery at Country Counter grocery store. Phyllis enjoyed being a homemaker, crocheting, planting flowers, and baking. Her family enjoyed her homemade German chocolate cake, pies, and cookies.
Phyllis leaves behind her four children, Ron (Pam) Martin, Sharon (Bill) Hopper, Curt (Sandy) Martin, and Lynn (Steve) Selmants; nine grandchildren, Jill (Chris) Palmenberg, Ethan Martin, Alicia (Chris) Shewring, Chris (Jodie) Hopper, Sara (Dan) Wendt, Sean Martin, Kyle Martin, Joey Selmants and Brian Selmants; and nine great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, and the love of her life, Robert “Bob” Martin, who passed in 1978; her siblings, William Edgar and Charmaine Kane; and her parents.
The family would like to thank Medina Meadows Nursing Home for the compassionate care they showed their Mom. Also, thank you to Hospice of Medina County for their assistance in Phyllis’ final days.
A private family burial will take place at Columbiana County Memorial Park in East Liverpool.
