Delores M. Rose

Delores M. Rose, 69, of Cleveland, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 1, 2012 in Brunswick. She was born July 19, 1943 in Logan County, West Virginia.

Delores was a homemaker and a long time member of the Broadview Road Church of Christ, enjoyed traveling, the Florida sunshine, camping, dancing, spending time with her family and her yorkie Roxanne.

She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Eddie; son, Ricky Rose, Sr. of North Ridgeville; daughter, Diana (Neal) Lichty of Brunswick; grandchildren, Ricky, Jr., Ryan, Rachel and Tara; cherished great grandchildren, Faith and Noah; sisters, Betty (Bruce) Simpkins Gail (Ronnie) Adkins, both of West Virginia; brothers, Danny (Nancy) of Michigan, Kenny (Lisa) of North Carolina.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Prentiss and Carrie (nee Canterbury) Sluss; grandson, Joshua Skindell; sister, Bernetta; brother, Ronnie and infant brother, Ishimir.

Family will receive friends Tuesday, December 4, 2012 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. at the Waite and Son Funeral Homes, Brunswick Chapel, 3300 Center Road, Brunswick. Funeral service will be Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at 11 A.M. in the funeral home, with Roger Pace officiating. Burial will follow at Hope Memorial Gardens in Hinckley.

Ana Fac, 79, resident of Meadowview Healthcare Center in Seville, passed away Sunday, December 2, 2012. She was born October 9, 1933 in Romania to Ioan and Floarea Leucuta.

Ana enjoyed being a homemaker, cooking, and spending time in her garden. She loved animals, and was always there when someone needed her.

She is survived by her son, Nicholas (Jill) Fic; daughter, Daniela (Lorn) Mahoney; grandchildren, Lorn and Kyle; and sister, Saveta.

Ana was preceded in death by her husband, Teofil Fac; and sisters, Maria, Florica, Lucretia.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 4, 2012 from 5 to 7 P.M. at Carlson Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, 3477 Medina Road (corner of Rt. 18 and River Styx Rd.), Medina. Graveside Service will be held at Friendsville Cemetery, Friendsville Rd. (Rt. 224), Westfield Township, Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at 1 P.M. (please meet at the cemetery).

Shirley A. Fisher

Shirley A. Fisher, 73, of Medina, passed away Saturday, December 1, 2012. She was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on December 27, 1938.

Shirley was a very active member of St. Francis Xavier since 1961 and volunteered at Hospice of Medina County for 13 years. She was an incredibly loving wife, mother and grandmother.

Shirley is survived by her husband of 53 years, William P. Fisher; son, Tom Fisher, Sr.; daughter, Lisa (Bob) Bogus; grandchildren, Tom Fisher, Jr., David Fisher, Tyler and Dylan Bogus; and her sisters, Mary Ellen and Lois of Baltimore, Maryland.

She was preceded in death by her son, William Fisher, Jr.

Mass of Christian burial will be held at 12 Noon, Thursday, December 6, 2012 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 606 E. Washington St., Medina 44256. Burial will follow at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman. The family will receive friends Wednesday, December 5, 2012 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. at Waite & Son Funeral Home, 765 N. Court St., Medina.

Raymond Edward Began

Raymond Edward Began, of Lodi, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 2, 2012 at Hospice of Medina County. Raymond was born December 1, 1931 in Cleveland, to August and Emily (Toman) Began.

He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy as an Aerial Photographer aboard the U.S.S. Wright. He married Mary T. Cannon in April 1957, who has preceded him in death.

He spent his entire career as a Master Machinist at TRW Automotive. One of his favorite pastimes was designing custom knives. He was a Master Gardener and an honorary Paul Harris Fellow of Rotary International. Raymond was known to all for his friendliness, quick wit and twinkling eyes.

Raymond will be missed by his daughters, Rita (Ernest) Perea of Des Moines, Iowa, Patricia Murphy of Bath, Ohio; son, Timothy (Kimberly) Began of Homerville; and his five grandchildren.

Friends may call from 10 A.M. until the time of service at 11 A.M., Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at Robert’s Funeral Home- Hillcrest Chapel, 9560 Acme Road, Wadsworth. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery, with military honors.

Michael P. Lewis, 70, of Lodi, passed away Thursday, November 29, 2012. He was born March 11, 1942 in Cincinnati, to the late Melbourne and Golda Mary (Snider) Lewis.

He was a retired Boilermaker now working for Norris Brothers in Cleveland. Mike was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and International Brotherhood of Boilermakers. He enjoyed bowling and softball, and was a huge sports fan and season ticket holder for the Cleveland Browns. He will always be remembered as a great friend to many.

Mike was the beloved husband of Linda (Bates), to whom he was married 13 years; loving father of Michael (Marianne) Lewis, Sheryl (Frank) Kaman and Lori (Jim) Swenberg; dear step-father of William (Marcie) Lockard, Amy (Lenny) Kleinhenz, Daniel (Nikki) Lockard and Tami Lockard; and devoted grandfather of 11. He is also survived by his beloved dog, Casey.

Service will be held Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at 10 A.M., at the Waite & Son Funeral Home, 765 N. Court St., Medina. Family will receive friends Monday, December 3, 2012 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M., in the funeral home.

John Hausman

John Hausman, 91, of Granger Township, passed away Friday, November 30, 2012 at his home, Maple Lane Farm, surrounded by his family. He was born in Akron, March 16, 1921 to the late Paul and Elizabeth (Kungle) Hausman.

John was a successful business man, was well known in the rubber equipment field and held several patents. He greatly enjoyed his farm in Medina County, singing his favorite tunes, eating his favorite Hungarian food and making people laugh.

John is survived by his wife of 71 years, Kathleen (Lydic) Hausman; children, Karen Graeff of North Royalton, Nancy Gardner of Medina, Marsha (Richard) King of Lakewood, Mark (Cathy) Hausman of Medina and Laura Hausman of Cleveland; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and his brother, Harry Hausman of Brownsville, Texas.

The Family will receive friends from 12 Noon until the time of funeral service at 2 P.M., Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at Waite & Son Funeral Home, 765 N. Court St., Medina.

Angelo S. Caito, age 83, of Medina, passed away Sunday, December 2, 2012, at his home in Richfield. He was born August 5, 1929 in California, Pennsylvania, to the late Salvatore and Onofria (Finazzo) Caito.

Angelo was a former manager at the White-Westinghouse Corp. He was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church and the American Legion Post #202, where he loved serving with the Honor Unit. Angelo served his country in the U.S.Army during the Korean Conflict. He will always be remembered as a wonderful, loving father and grandfather. He was the beloved father of Michael A. Caito of Cleveland and Michele M. (Jeff) Boryk Reichle of Richfield; loving grandfather of Samantha and Alex Boryk. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Benedetto, to whom he was married 51 years; brothers, Mariano, Steve and Frank Caito; and sister, Marie Statten.

Family will receive friends at the Waite & Son Funeral Home, 765 N. Court St., Medina, Wednesday, December 5, 2012, from 2 until 4 and 6:30 until 9 P.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, December 6, 10 A.M., at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 606 E. Washington St., Medina. Father Anthony Sejba will be the Celebrant. Burial will be at St. Francis Cemetery.

Jacob Neal Shroyer

Jacob Neal Shroyer, 31, of Grafton, passed away unexpectedly at his home Sunday, December 2, 2012. He was born April 8, 1981, in Elyria and resided most of his life in Grafton.

He attended Midview High School. Jake was a car enthusiast from driving to fixing them. He also enjoyed fishing, camping and hunting. He attended Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints, in Grafton.

He is survived by his mother, Crystal Hervey (nee McGraw), of Vermilion; his father, Clayton Shroyer, of Grafton; his stepfather, Charles Hervey, of North Ridgeville; his sisters, Tiffany (Bill) Bowes, of Grafton, and Danielle (Ben) Firem, of Twinsburg; his brothers, Josh Shroyer, of Grafton and Charles Hervey, of Vermilion; maternal grandmother, Iona Hervey (nee McGraw), of Spencer; paternal grandparents, Gerald and Helen Shroyer, of Grafton; two nieces; two nephews; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Oscar McGraw.

The family will receive friends Thursday, December 6, 2012 from 2 P.M. to 3:30 P.M., in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Rd., Amherst. Graveside services will immediate follow at 3:45 P.M., at Ridge Hill Memorial Park. Bishop James Wells and Pastor Joseph Ford will co-officiate.

Russell E. Richardson

Russell E. Richardson, 90, of Strongsville passed away on Thursday, November 22, 2012, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on February 13, 1922 to Harry and Myrtle (nee Kenard) Richardson. He married Eleanor Schwartz on December 15, 1945.

Russell was a group equipment mechanic for United Airlines and served his country honorably in WWII in the Army Air Force. He loved to garden and care for his fruit trees.

He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Harry E. Richardson, Norma Graham and Marilyn Brown. Russell is survived by his wife, Eleanor; children, Russell A (Brenda), Kenneth (Jana), David (Cathy) and Timothy (Virginia); sister, Janice Richardson; grandchildren, Scott, Karen, Jodie, Kelly, Cliff, Matt, Lynsy, Allen and Corey; great grandchildren, Morgan, McKenzie, Mason, Katie, Alex, Zachary, Austin, Garrett, and Alex.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 8, 2012 from 2 to 4 P.M. with service immediately following at Carlson Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, 1642 Pearl Road Brunswick. Private inurnment in Hope Memorial Gardens, Hinckley, Ohio.

Earl Eugene “Doc” Meng

Earl Eugene “Doc” Meng, 91, of Lodi, formerly of Jeromesville, died peacefully in his sleep Saturday, December 1, 2012, at the Hospice of North Central Ohio in Ashland. He was born in Ashland County, to Clarence and Minnie Meng on May 9, 1921.

He graduated from Jeromesville High School and, feeling strongly about service to his Country, he entered the Army Air Corps and fought in World War II in the European and North African Theatres. After his military service, he was married on December 1, 1945, to Martha Donelson, who survives.

A lifelong member of the agricultural community, his career started at the Jeromesville Elevator and then advanced to sales with Allied Mills. After a successful career in sales, Earl took the position of Manager of the Salona Supply in Salem. Wishing to move closer to the area in which he was a fifth generation family member, he took the position of General Manager of the Lodi Equity, retiring in 1985.

Earl supported his community serving as superintendent of Sunday Schools at his church, member of the Jeromesville Board of Education and past president of Lexington Ruritan Club. Earl was a Master Mason in the Harrisville Masonic Lodge. He developed many lifelong friendships from his interests in hunting, golf, and enjoyment of sports.

Earl will be deeply missed by his wife of 67 years, Martha; his children, Kennard (Jill) of Jeromesville, Philip of Lodi, Kathy Piatt-Hitt of Butler, Pennsylvania; grandchildren, Tracy and Drew Meng, Todd and Keith Meng, Katti Meng-Boreman, Jessica Meng Fulton, Jason, Andrew, and Mya Hitt; 13 great-grandchildren; brothers, Stanley (Delores) and Jerry (Mary Ann) Meng of Jeromesville; sisters, Pauline Eggerton of Ashland, Maxine Smith of Houston, Texas, and Shirley Burrell of Ashland; and many nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Ruth Markel and Betty Roseborough.

Calling hours will be 4 until 7 P.M., Wednesday, December 5, 2012, and one hour prior to services at Fickes Funeral Home, 84 N. High Street, Jeromesville, 44840, where funeral services will be 12 P.M., Thursday, December 6, 2012. Reverend Robert Holmes will officiate. Burial will be at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, 10175 Rawiga Road, Rittman, 44270.

Avery C. Sooy

Avery Clyde Sooy, 93, of Penfield, passed away Saturday, December 1, 2012, after a brief Illness. Avery was born June 30, 1919, in Penfield, to Homer and Ella (Gannett) Sooy. He was a lifelong resident of Penfield.

He graduated from Penfield High School in 1937, and later married Helen (Neidhardt) Sooy, his wife of 71 years. A retired dairy farmer, he worked the family homestead until the late 1970s. Avery was a former Penfield Township trustee, a member of Farm Bureau, Order of Eastern Star, Wellington Masonic Lodge, and Spencer United Methodist Church. A familiar figure at local fairs and livestock auctions, Avery enjoyed buying, selling and trading dairy cattle and horses. He loved traveling with his wife, family gatherings, music, and gardening. Avery was a sports enthusiast and enjoyed watching his grandchildren play various high school and college sports. He was an avid fan of the Keystone Wildcats softball team and the Cleveland Indians.

Surviving are his loving wife Helen; two daughters, Linda (Jerry) Jackson of Penfield Paula (Jeff) Terlecky of Vienna, Ohio; 10 grandchildren, Kim Weigl of North Ridgeville, Gaylene Weigl of Olmsted Falls, Beth Johnson of Mercer Island, Washington, Don Jackson of Penfield, Ray (Colleen) Jackson of DeGraff, Justin (Corrine) Jackson of Spencer, Bonnie Belle (Harry) Karam of Downington, Pennsylvania, Curtis (Gabrielle) Breyley of Medina, Jared (Kristen) Terlecky of Vienna, Seth Terlecky of Vienna; 14 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his daughters, Ruthann Weigl and Bonnie Breyley; sisters, Dorothy Workman and Esther Brown; and brothers, Frank and Harold.

Funeral service will be held Friday, December 7, 2012, 11 A.M., at the Spencer United Methodist Church, 201 E. Main St., Spencer. Reverend Dr. Tim Morrison will officiate. Burial will follow at Spencer Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, December 6, 2012, from 5 until 8 P.M., at the Parker & Son Funeral Home, 202 E. Main St., Spencer (330-648-2180).

Richard A. “Rick” Hudson, 62, of Medina, went to be with the Lord, Monday, December 3, 2012. He was born December 1, 1950 in Canton.

Known for his sense of humor and intelligence, Rick enjoyed doing home Bible studies, studying politics and history, working with computers, and was an avid Ohio State fan. He loved music and playing the french horn, which he taught for a time at Baldwin Wallace College. Most of all, Rick loved God, his family, and the family dog Kenpo.

He was the beloved husband of Joyce (Murray), to whom he was married 35 years; loving father of Rick Hudson (Loree Firth, fiancee), Dan Hudson, Kelly (Darren) Knupp and Hannah Hudson (Chris Shaddock); dear grandfather of Katie, Jake and Emily; devoted son of Jack Hudson; loving brother of Jody (David) Lindower and Jack (Lisa) Hudson.

Three years ago, to the date, he was preceded in death by his dear mother, Barbara Hudson (Walters).

Kelly M. Fetzer, 20, of Valley City, passed away at her home Tuesday, December 4, 2012. She was born May 31, 1992 in Cleveland.

Kelly was a student at Windfall School and attended the West Akron Apostolic Christian Church.

She was the beloved daughter of Timothy and Renee (Charavell) Fetzer; loving sister of Katrina (Jeff) Taylor of Grafton, Karen (Charles) Yost of Wellington, Kayla, Kassandra, Jacob and Josiah Fetzer, all of Valley City; dear granddaughter of Harriet Fetzer of Strongsville and Ralph Charavell of Fredericktown, Ohio; and loving aunt of Tristen. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Kathy Charavell; and grandfather, Fred Fetzer.

Service will be held Saturday, December 8, 2012, 10 A.M., at the Waite & Son Funeral Home, Medina Chapel, 765 N. Court St. Pastor Louie Pejnovic will officiate. Betty Adams

Betty Adams, 88, passed away Saturday, December 1, 2012 at Akron Manor Care. Until June, she had resided for past 20 years at Paul E. Belcher Apartments in Akron, after retiring from DiFeo and Sons Poultry.

As one of five children, she was born Betty Jane Rush on August 31, 1924, in Bridgeport, Ohio, to the late Whitten and Hazel Rush. She grew up in rural Harrison County, moved to rural Medina County, where she lived for over 20 years, then Doylestown, Ohio, before finally settling in Akron.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Whitten Rush and Hazel Waser Williams; twin sister, Clara Tabor; step mother, Beatrice Rockwood Rush; sister, Della Kirk; brother, Robert Rush; son, Charles Wagar; and granddaughter, Sandy Wiggins.

Betty is survived by her grandchildren; great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and sister, Jeanne Santee of Memphis, Tennessee.

As per Betty’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation or services.

D. Dudley Fetzer MD

In loving memory of D. Dudley Fetzer MD of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, formerly of Canton. Born and raised in Lodi, Dudley went to the Lord on Monday, December 3, 2012.

Preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Gladys Fetzer of Lodi; and sister, Doris Mansfield of Wadsworth.

He is survived by his loving wife, Nell and best friend of 58 wonderful years; three children, Cynthia (Michael Burke) Bowman of Pepper Pike, Ohio, Julie (Randy) Gonzalez of Jackson Township, Ohio, and Dudley K. (Marlaine) Fetzer of San Diego, California; eight grandchildren, Jason and Christopher (Ashley) Bowman, Ross Bradley, Rachel and Dylan Fetzer, Laura Burke, Kelly (John) Perry and Kody (Jenny) Gonzalez; and five great grandchildren.

Dudley, a graduate of the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, practiced Pediatrics for over 30 years in Stark County, was a long time member of the Stark County Medical Society, and was on Staff at Aultman Hospital. He was adored by his patients and their parents and was always known to have a warm heart and gentle hands.

Dad was deeply loved by his family and will be greatly missed. Everyone knew him as a man of strong principals and convictions with a great sense of humor.

Dudley loved to watch golf tournaments, OSU football/basketball, Cleveland Indians and the Cleveland Browns. He never gave up on the Cleveland teams.

Russell E. Richardson, 90, of Strongsville, passed away Thursday, November 22, 2012, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born February 13, 1922 to Harry and Myrtle (nee Kenard) Richardson. He married Eleanor Schwartz on December 15, 1945.

Russell was a group equipment mechanic for United Airlines and served his country honorably in WWII in the Army Air Force. He loved to garden and care for his fruit trees.

He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Harry E. Richardson, Norma Graham and Marilyn Brown.

Russell is survived by his wife, Eleanor; children, Russell A (Brenda), Kenneth (Jana), David (Cathy) and Timothy (Virginia); sister, Janice Richardson; grandchildren, Scott, Karen, Jodie, Kelly, Cliff, Matt, Lynsy, Allen and Corey; great grandchildren, Morgan, McKenzie, Mason, Katie, Alex, Zachary, Austin, Garrett, and Alex.

Visitation will be held Saturday, December 8, 2012 from 2 to 4 P.M. with service immediately following at Carlson Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, 1642 Pearl Road, Brunswick. Private inurnment in Hope Memorial Gardens, Hinckley.

Betty J. Mickna

Betty J. Mickna, 84, of Creston, died unexpectedly Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at Wadsworth-Rittman Hospital. Betty was born May 2, 1928 in River Styx, the daughter of the late Eugene and Helen Marie (Southern) Hartman.

On October 13, 1947, she married Clarence Mickna, who preceded her in death January 25, 1989. She retired following 30 years of service from Nabisco Brands, in Seville, and was a member of Advent Christian Church. She had made her home in Creston since 1976, and had enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, traveling with her former co-workers and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

She will be greatly missed by her six children, Paula Brown of Rittman, Wendy (Dick) Stanley, Debbie (Lonnie) Brumfield and Sandy (Jerry) Brumfield, all of Branchland, West Virginia, Cindy (Bob) Welday of Norton and Scott (Rhonda) Mickna of Wooster; and 13 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; two grandchildren; sister, Lois; and brothers, Dale, Charles, Cecil and Glen.

Service will be Saturday, December 8, 2012 at 11 A.M. at Murray Funeral Home, Creston, with burial following in Creston Maple Mound Cemetery. Friends may call Friday, December 7, 2012 from 5 to 8 P.M. in the funeral home.
