Robert F. Porter, 27, of Medina, passed away suddenly Sunday, June 9, 2013. Bob was born July 25, 1985 in Cleveland.
He served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps and was disabled in Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Bob attended Medina High School and the Medina County Career Center. He was an avid marksman and loved his family dearly.
He was the beloved son of Robert (Charlene) Porter and Shellie (Mike) Lightner (Markley); loving father of Reagan Claire Porter; dear brother of Tommie, Logan, Aidan and Amanda; loving grandson of Fred (Linda) Markley and Arbie (Barbara) Porter; dear nephew of Laurie (Les) Adkins, Cathy (Jerry) Parker and Victoria (Marvin) Parobek; loving cousin of Hollie, Heather and Hope; great-uncle of Landon and Bryce. He is also survived by his former wife, Karla Porter; and Marine Corps brothers from 3/8.
Bob was preceded in death by his loving great grandparents; and beloved Marine Corps brothers.
Services will be held Friday, June 14, 9:15 A.M., at the Waite & Son Funeral Home, 765 N. Court St., Medina. Military burial will follow at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman. The family will receive friends Thursday, June 13, 2013, from 4 until 8 P.M., at the funeral home.
