Lucille Faster Widdifield, 100, of Brunswick, went home with the Lord and her late husband, Howard Widdifield on Friday, May 31, 2013. She was born in Cleveland on May 24, 1913 to her late parents, Henry and Elsie (Bell) Faster of Brunswick. Lucille celebrated her 100th birthday last week with family and friends and this week is celebrating with her God and heavenly family.
Lucille retired from RCA. She was a member of the Brunswick United Methodist Church, the Brunswick Area Historical Society, Past President of UMW (United Methodist Women’s group) and a graduate of Brunswick High School Class of 1932. Lucille loved to embroider, read, garden, play pinochle, and follow the Cleveland Indians.
She was a loving mother to daughters, Mary (Tom) Parker-Palider of Apoka, Florida, Patsy Bouman (Bob) of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, and Jean (Tex) Combs of Brunswick; 20 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren. She was a foster grandparent to hundreds.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Faster; and sisters, Mildred Buttolph, Cora Selig and Elsie Umbel.
Friends may call at Waite and Son Funeral Home, 3300 Center Rd., Brunswick, OH 44212 on Wednesday, June 5, 2013 from to 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M., and 1 hour prior to service. Funeral service will be held at the Brunswick United Methodist Church, 1395 Pearl Rd., Brunswick, on Thursday, June 6, 2013 at 11 A.M. Pastor Tom Shaw will officiate. Burial will follow at the Westview Cemetery in Brunswick.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Brunswick Historical Society or Brunswick United Methodist Church.
