Donna E. Sheppard

Donna E Sheppard, 83, of Evans, Georgia, formerly of Polk, died Tuesday May 28, 2013, at University Hospital in Augusta, Georgia. She was born July 5, 1929 in Polk, Ohio, the daughter of Earl and Edna (Hines) Niswender.

She was a homemaker all her life. She had been employed at Myers Pump in Ashland for seven years, working in the billing department, National Latex in Ashland for four years and the Good Shepherd Nursing home for three years.

She was a former Sunday School teacher at Mt. Pleasant Church in West Salem. She is a member of Grace Brethren Church in Homerville and a former member of the Women Missionary Council.

Donna is survived by three children, Judy (Jim) Cook of Harrodsburg, Kentucky, Elizabeth (Dan) Duncan of Aiken, South Carolina and Lester (Kelly) Sheppard of Wellington; eight grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and a great great grandson.

Her parents; husband, Dean Sheppard who died in 1993; son, Ronald Sheppard who died in 1974; a great grandson, Caden who died in 2012; a sister, Gladys Sheppard; and brother, Gerald Niswender died previously.

Funeral services will be Monday June 3, 2013, 11 A.M., at the Matteson Funeral Home in West Salem, with Reverend Robert Holmes and Reverend Ron Patterson officiating.

Friends will be received at the funeral home Sunday, June 2, 2013, from 7 until 9 P.M. Burial will be in Red Haw Cemetery, Polk, Ohio.
