Joan Baughman, 91, passed away Friday, May 17, 2013, in Wadsworth. She was born October 17, 1921 in Coddingville, Ohio, to the late Monroe and Fern (Coddingham) Schlott. Joan was a graduate of Granger High School, class of 1939. She worked for a time at A.I. Root in Medina, before she married Earl E. Baughman, veteran of WWII. They were blessed with 60 years together, living in Granger Township, where both enjoyed gardening and travel. After Earl’s death in 2007, Joan continued to keep up their neat home in the country, drive her car and be a meticulous housekeeper despite health issues that made agility difficult to handle. This diligence was certainly admired by friends.
She was preceded in death by husband, Earl; sister, Helen Alexander; and brother-in-law, Kenneth Alexander.
A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, May 23, 2013, 12 Noon, at the Waite & Son Funeral Home, 765 N. Court St., Medina. Friends may call one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
In accordance with her wishes, Joan will be cremated and her ashes will be interred at Granger Township Cemetery.
