Clifford Bale, Jr.

Clifford Bale, Jr, 90, of Westfield Center, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 28, 2013. He was born in Akron to William and Catherine Bale on October 30, 1922.

Cliff graduated from Kenmore High School in 1940. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army, was co-owner of Lake Bowling Alley in Barberton, was a Deputy Sheriff for Summit County, and a member of Norton and Westfield Center Police forces. He worked for St. Paul Insurance Co. and then joined Westfield Companies. He was a claims adjuster and managed the Westfield Country Club Golf Course prior to his retirement. After retiring, Cliff resumed his studies at Indiana University. He completed his degree and graduated with honors at the age of 72. He was a 32nd Degree Mason with 65 years of membership.

Cliff was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma; and sister, Katherine Lowry.

He is survived by his children, Rene (Tom) Watts of Westfield Center, Debbie (Bob) Stone of Santa Rosa Beach, Florida; grandchildren, Tom (Jessica) Watts of Delaware, Ohio, Mike (Erin) Watts of Indianapolis, Indiana, Douglas Davis of Chicago and Margi Watts of Berea.

Private graveside service will take place at Lakewood Cemetery.
