Norman F. Ponge, 69, of Brunswick, passed away on Thursday, February 14, 2013. He was born on December 31, 1943 to the late Frank Ponge and Josephine (nee Zamec) Zupancic in Cleveland.
Norman proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during peace time. He retired from Emery Worldwide as a truck driver, after 30 years. Norman was an active member of The Brunswick Eagles, American Legion #610 and St. Colette Catholic Church. He enjoyed spending his time outdoors hunting and fishing.
Norman leaves behind to mourn, his beloved wife of 45 years, Bernadette (nee Tomazin); loving children, Kimberly, Kevin and Brian Ponge, and Sherri (Mark) Price; treasured grandchildren, Angela, Steven, Ryan, Marisa, Olivia and Dominic; and step-father, Louis Zupancic.
He was preceded in death by his grandson, Dylan.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 19, 2013 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. at Waite and Son Funeral Home, 3300 Center Rd., Brunswick, 44212. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at 9:30 A.M. at St. Colette Catholic Church, 330 W. 130th St., Brunswick, 44212. Military burial will follow at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman.
