Mary Jean “MJ” Miller, 82, joined the love of her life in eternal peace Friday, August 17, 2012. Mary Jean was born March 20, 1930, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, to the late Joseph and Cassie Rink.

She moved to Medina with her husband, Ray and family in 1968. Mary Jean worked as a receptionist and secretary for Kohanski & Associates for many years and then for Miller Lawn Maintenance through 1997. She brought her exceptional communication skills and knack for organization to both of those positions

Mary Jean was preceded in death by her high school sweetheart and beloved husband of 55 years, Raymond E. Miller; infant son, Sam; brothers, Joseph and Robert; sisters, Gertrude, Delores and Margaret; and parents, Joseph and Cassie.

Surviving are daughters, Molly Miller (Steve Behre), Margo (Brad) Potts, Paula (Rick) Knight; and son, Matt (Julie) Miller; eight grandchildren, Ben and Mallory Potts, Ricky (Jeni) and Riley Knight, Adam (Heather) and Samantha Laliberte, Jessica (Brent) Worthing and Maxwell Miller; as well as two great-grandchildren, Ryker and Kenton Knight.

A progressive and liberal thinker, Mary Jean’s true passion was her family and home (we can’t forget to mention the Detroit Tigers). She and her husband, Ray, routinely hosted young and old from all walks of life in their home and around their kitchen table. A great listener, MJ was always ready to share sage advice with those who desired it. Loving, kind, pink, devoted, doting, proud, and fiercely loyal are a few words that attempt to describe her.

We are so pleased you have joined your husband and loved ones in eternal peace. You leave us all with heavy hearts and a huge hole where you filled our lives with love.

Mary Jean’s family will receive relatives and friends at Waite and Son Funeral home, 765 N Court St. Medina, from 2 until 5 P.M., Saturday, August 25, 2012. Pastor Neal Sadler will officiate a service at 5 P.M. Private family burial will take place Aug 27, at Western Reserve National Cemetery.

Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Medina County, 5075 Windfall Road, Medina OH 44256.

Online condolences may be left at www.waitefuneralhome.com.
