Eugene T. Claypool, 80, of Medina, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, December 27, 2012. He was born June 8, 1932 in Pickens, West Virginia to the late Thomas and Myrtle (Armentrout) Claypool.
Eugene was a job setter for over 30 years for General Motors and retired in 1982. He loved his church family and was an active member as well as Deacon at First Baptist Church in West Salem. Eugene proudly served his country in the U.S. Army.
He was the beloved husband of Lois (Williams), to whom he was married 58 years; loving father of Pamela Ann Claypool of San Diego, California and Rochelle Kelly of Lodi; dear grandfather of Angela, Annmarie, and Mariah; and great-grandfather of Nicholas and Preston.
He was preceded in death by his son, Mark Alan Claypool; his sister, Freda Stadler; and his brother, Harry Claypool.
Services will be held 10:30 A.M., Monday, December 31, 2012, at the Waite & Son Funeral Home, 765 N. Court St., Medina. Burial with military honors by VFW Post 5137 will take place at Spring Grove Cemetery in Medina. The family will receive friends Sunday, December 30, 2012, from 2 until 5 P.M., and one half hour prior to the service Monday at the funeral home.
