Evylee (Evelyn) Adkins, 88, of Valley City, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 15, 2016. Evelyn was born in Bullet County, Kentucky, to the late Willy and Pauline Reece. She resided in Valley City since 1971.
Evelyn lived on a farm growing up and started planting tobacco plants at the age of 4. She got her first paying job babysitting a neighbor child. She was always employed, working mostly factory jobs over the years. The last employment was with DCM in Valley City, where she worked over 25 years.
Evelyn enjoyed quilting and making ceramic artwork.
Evelyn’s husband William Adkins, of 60 years, preceded in her death on January 28, 2016. This loving couple is now joined together with their son, Danny, who passed away in 1999.
They will be greatly missed by children, Tonie (Charles) Cook of Akron and William J. (Elizabeth) Adkins of Tallmadge, Charlotte Reynolds, of Indiana and West Davis of New York; grandchildren, Jude, Jacob, Vincent, Erik, Silas, LeeAnn, Tommy, Theresa and David and many great- grandchildren who loved her very much; sister and brothers, Mildred, Ann, Melvin and the late Calvin and Alvie.
Graveside Service will be 11 A.M., Saturday, March 19, 2016, at Eastlawn Memory Gardens, Grafton Road, Brunswick, with the Reverend Richard Thewlis officiating.
The Bauer Funeral Home, Valley City, had the honor to serve the Adkins Family.
