George E. Grannis Jr. “Puddin”, 72, passed away Thursday, March 3, 2016. A resident of Doylestown, he was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War.
George retired as a truck driver with 30 years of service. He was active in Teamsters Local #407, past Commander of American Legion #449 and was a member of Barberton Moose #759.
Preceded in death by his parents, George Sr. and Rose.
Survived by his wife of 17 years, Sheila; children, Kim Grannis, Richard Grannis and Nikki (Bill) Blicha; step-children, Renee (Tim) Struckel and Ty (Christie) Robinson; 14 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brother Larry Grannis of Reston, Virginia; sister, Kathy (Randy) Huffman of Lodi; nieces, nephews; other relatives, friends and his special friend and best buddy, “Abby”.
Funeral service will be held Monday, March 7, 2016 at 1 P.M. at the Campfield-Hickman-Collier Funeral Home, 566 W. Park Ave., Barberton 44203 with Father Robert Jackson officiating. Burial at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery with military honors. George’s family will receive friends on Sunday, March 6, 2016 from 2 to 5 P.M. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice to memory of George.
