Frank R. Hastings, Jr., 86, passed away Monday, December 17, 2012, in Medina. He was born January 30, 1926 in Cleveland.
Frank was a very outgoing and loving gentleman who spent his life caring for his family, and creating friendships with everyone he met. Frank worked for the Nickel Plate Railroad in Cleveland in his younger years, and in 1955 took over his father’s printing business, Hastings Printing, in Parma, Ohio. He moved the business to Medina, and later to Wadsworth before retiring from printing in 2000. Frank also spent many hours taking care of Hastings Tree Farm, growing Christmas trees. He just loved talking to all the people who came over to choose a Christmas tree every year. Frank enjoyed roller skating, square dancing, line dancing, and playing bridge, was a long time member of Kiwanis Breakfast Club, and was always ready to go out with friends and have a good time.
Frank is survived by his wife of 64 years, Edith L.; his children, F. Russell and his wife, Treva of Wadsworth, Sharon and her husband, Mehran Bidanjiri of Scottsdale, Arizona, and Lisa Hastings of Gloria Glens; his grandchildren, Kevin and his wife, Sarah, Christopher and his wife, Lea, Holly, Kyle, Kian, and Brian; and his great-granddaughter, Rebecca.
