Matthew A. Manchak

Manchak_MatthewMatthew A. Manchak, 55, passed away at home and peacefully, surrounded by his loving family Wednesday, December 16, 2015. Matt was born November 10, 1960 in Elyria, to the late Stephen and Annamae (Popchock) Manchak.
He worked for 35 years as a maintenance supervisor at Carlisle and most recently at McJack Candy. Matt liked going to Summit Raceway Park and spent hours working on muscle cars. He was an avid NASCAR fan. In his youth, he worked as an electrician with his father at Chippewa Lake Park. Matt’s grandchildren were his greatest joy and they meant the world to him. Matt’s family would like to thank Hospice of Medina Co. for the compassionate care given to him at his home.
He is survived by his wife, Renee (Villoni) whom he’s been together with for 20 years; children, Michael (Chelsea) Manchak, Kelli (Jeremy) Stiener, Jessica Maynard and Jamie Maynard; grandchildren, Brenden, Breanna, MacKenzie and Brokk; brother, Stephen (Allison) Manchak; sisters, Deborah (Greg) Lorenzen, Rebecca (Les) McClanning, Tamara Manchak and Suzanna (James) Schneider; and many nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service for Matt will be held Monday, December 21, 2015, at 1 P.M., at the Waite & Son Funeral Home, 765 N. Court St., Medina. Fr. Nicholas Gobora will officiate. Burial will follow at Mound Hill Cemetery in Seville. Family will receive friends Sunday, December 20, 2015 from 2 until 6 P.M., at the funeral home.
Matt’s family suggests memorial contributions be made to the SaveABrain Foundation, 8590 West Olympic Blvd. PMB 643, Beverly Hills, CA 90211 for Glioblastoma Research.
