Robert Eugene Sponseller, Jr., 74, of Creston, died peacefully at his home, Monday, November 23, 2015, after a period of declining health. He was born January 19, 1941 in Goshen, Indiana, to Robert and Betty (Leist) Sponseller, Sr. Bob served in the U.S. Army and worked at Joe’s Place in Sharon Center for several years. He made his home in the Medina County area for the past 58 years, having resided with his sister in Creston since 2001. He was a member of Creston-Canaan United Methodist Church, having formerly attending Ridgewood Baptist Church in Wadsworth. Bob will be remembered for being kind hearted and always generous and helpful to others.
Surviving are his sister, Jean Sponseller of Creston; a brother, Greg (Barbara) Sponseller of New Paris, Indiana; nephews, Troy, Tony and Michael and a niece, Kelly.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Richard.
Memorial Services will be held Saturday, November 28, at 2 P.M., at Murray Funeral Home in Creston, with Pastor Deborah Quillen officiating. Burial will be in Creston Maple Mound Cemetery.
