Betty Lou (Travis) Maxwell-Johnson-Heath, 84, of Toledo, passed away Tuesday, September 29, 2015, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg. She was born March 23, 1931, to Martin Louis and Bertha Julia (Norris) Travis in Lodi.
Most important to Betty was her family; she cherished the time spent with her children and her grandchildren who lovingly called her, “Nanny/Bingo Betty.” After nearly 20 years of service, she retired from the Lion’s Department Store and was a member of Conn-Weissenberger A.L. Post #587, Ladies Auxiliary.
Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband, John R. Heath; children, Terry (Kathleen) Maxwell, Jack Maxwell, DeeDee (Chris) Zawodny and Laurie (Doug) Zawodny; stepchildren, David Heath and Laura (John) Zalewski; daughter-in-law, Tina Johnson; former spouse, Russell (Sonja) Johnson; 13 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Randy Johnson; great-grandchildren, Katherine Rose and Quinn Rebecca; siblings, Anna, Sadie, Lawrence, Jim, Florence, Marty, Martha, Kate and Dorothy.
The family will receive guests Monday, October 5, 2015, from 2 until 8 P.M., at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin Tuesday, October 6, 2015, at 10:30 A.M., in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Toledo Memorial Park in Sylvania.
