She was born January 27, 1935, in Clearfield Co., Pennsylvania and was valedictorian in the class of 1952 at Clearfield High School. She attended Penn State, Rensselaer Polytechnic, and Baldwin-Wallace, studying mathematics and psychology.
Her computer systems career spanned five decades, from analog computers of the 1950’s through super mainframes, to micro systems, to network management. An accomplished spinner, weaver, basket maker, shooter, antiques collector, equestrian and teacher, where her interests and zest for life had no bounds.
Myrtle never met a stranger and was comfortable in any social or professional environment. She was at ease talking politics with a U.S. Senator or comforting a lost child. She was a patron member of the NRA, life member of the OGCA, defender of the U.S. Constitution and believed the only laws we have ever needed were the Ten Commandments and the original Bill of Rights.
Myrtle was an incredibly compassionate mother, grandmother and wife and was loved by all who had the good fortune to have known her.
She is survived by her husband, Cecil B. Parker, Jr., to whom she was married for 30 years; daughter, Trish (Jeff) Palsa of Solon; son, John (Brenda) Donovan of Edwardsville, Illinois; stepdaughter, Gretchen Parker (James) Roberts of Columbus; stepson, Andrew (Tricia) Parker of Columbus; six grandchildren; sister, Sally (Bob) Wilcox of Leesburg, Florida; several nieces and nephews and literally hundreds of true friends and adopted family from around this great Country.
