Maynard Dale Johnson, 88, of Harrisonburg, Virginia, passed away Tuesday, August 18, 2015. Mr. Johnson was born July 1, 1927 in Medina and belonged to one of the first families of Medina.
Maynard was retired. He loved hunting, steam engines, genealogy, watching old Westerns, reading the newspaper daily, collecting coins, putting picture puzzles together then framing them to hang on his walls. He also enjoyed the country life and when he made friends, they were for life. Maynard was a man of integrity and had a good sense of humor.
He is survived by his wife, Johnnalee Johnson; son, Michael (Judy); daughters, Christine A. Stover (Charles), Cheryl A. Hardtke (Michael); four grandchildren, Travis Stover (Melissa), Danny Hardtke, Robert Johnson, Heather Fitzgerald (Danny); seven great-grandchildren, Tyler, Hayden, Violet Johnson, Sawyer and Miriam Stover and Heiley and Macey Fitzgerald.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ivan and Edna Johnson and a brother, Leland.
Visiting hours were held at the Kyger Funeral Home Chapel in Harrisonburg, Virginia. The Reverend Paul O’Gorek officiated.
