Vivah was born October 18, 1909 in Spencer, at the southwest corner of New London Eastern and River Corners Rd. She lived most of the rest of her life on South Main Street in Spencer. She passed away Saturday, August 8, 2015 in Medina, at the age of 105.
Vivah spent most of her adult life working in the general store in Spencer that she and her late husband Norris E. owned. She ran the store most Wednesday afternoons when Norris just had to go hunting or fishing with Lenny Grieve. Vivah was well liked and respected by the store’s patrons because of her friendliness and kindness to everyone. Most people that met her could not help but like her and become her friend. However, so many of her friends are gone, since she outlived most of them. She will be missed by all.
Surviving are, son, Bruce (wife Karen) Walters; granddaughters, Elizabeth (Mark) Paden, Carol (Joe Don) Heath; great-grandchildren, Nick Paden, Erica Paden Roberts, Jackson, Cameron and Savannah Heath; great-great-granddaughter, Avery Roberts.
She was preceded in death by her husband. Norris in 1996; grandson, Dale Walters and brother, Rayman Billman.
Funeral service will be Wednesday, August 12, 2015, at 11 A.M., at the Parker & Son Funeral Home, 202 East Main St., Spencer. Dr. Rev. Deborah Michaels will officiate. Burial will follow at Spencer Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, August 11, 2015, from 6 until 8 P.M., at the funeral home.
Vivah really like flowers, but she loved her little old church where she was married even more. So in lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to New Horizons Lutheran Church, 8439 River Corners Rd., Homerville, OH 44235 or to Compassionate Care Hospice, 300 N. Cleveland Massillon Rd., Akron, OH 44333.
