She was a 1975 graduate of James A. Garfield High School and was a member of St. Nicholas Orthodox Church in Warren. On September 5, 1976, Kerya was united with her high school sweetheart, Ed and had shared 39 years together.

Kerya then started working for her brother Michael at ACE Software Inc., as a customer service representative for the next 21 years off and on. During this time, the couple welcomed two children into their lives. Kerya decided to take a break to stay home with her children and started a small home day care. Kerya also loved to plant flowers and would also work at the Warren Greenhouse when time permitted. After Alexis and Adam grew older Kerya went back to work at ACE Software to continue to help install and train Education Administrative Software. The company was sold and Kerya finished working for the new company Harris Computer Systems.
Kerya was passionate about helping others and serving the Lord. She helped establish St. Nicholas Samaritan Outreach which has helped those in crisis for over 22 years. The Outreach serves meals to those in need and provides Christmas gifts to children whose families are struggling. It also provides book bags full of school supplies to children in the surrounding communities. Kerya and her sister, Sis Albers, sponsored two boys from Children of Chernobyl for many years. She also served as a Board Member for seven years at the Holy Trinity Orthodox Christian Academy, was a Girl Scout leader, a Red Cross volunteer for mobile meals, worked as a Spiritual Care volunteer at Medina Cleveland Clinic and recently trained to become a Hospice volunteer.
