Emalene Mae Machles, 88, passed away Tuesday, June 23, 2015 in Cleveland. Emalene was born August 1, 1926 in Columbus, to the late Earl and Ester (Knierem) Fansler.
She retired after 25 years as an educator. Emalene was a Medina Hospital Volunteer, member of the Retired Teachers Organization, Kappa Kappa Psi Teachers Sorority, violinist, sang in the United Church of Christ choir and a Cuyahoga Valley Train Volunteer. She enjoyed travel, reading and line dancing.
Emalene is survived by her husband, Leonard, to whom she was married 66 years; children, Douglas (Deborah) Machles of Cleveland, David (Karen) Machles of Religh, North Carolina, Gary (Emily) Machles of Cincinnati and Jennifer (Sabi) Krispi of Sana Barbara, California; grandchildren, Heather, Andrew (Dana), Alison (Stephen), Matthew, Eli, Jonathan, Hannah, Rebekah and Maren and great-grandchildren, River and Arlo.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Emerson Fansler.
Services will be held Saturday, June 27, 2015 at 12 Noon, at the Waite & Son Funeral Home, 765 N. Court St., Medina. The Reverend Doctor Neal Sadler will officiate. A light lunch will be provided following the service. Family will receive friends from 10 A.M. to 12 Noon, Saturday, in the funeral home. Inurnment will be held at a later date at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman.
In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorial contributions be made to United Church of Christ, Congregational, 217 E. Liberty St., Medina, OH 44256 or Hospice of Medina County, 5075 Windfall Road, Medina, OH 44256.
