Irene C. Riddleburgh, 84, of Westfield Center, passed away Monday, May 18, 2015, with her family by her side. She was born November 28, 1930 in Livingston, New York, to the late Peter and Stella Kosmaczewski.
Irene graduated from Albany Business College and was an executive secretary for Honeywell in Albany, New York. She enjoyed many years of volunteering with the Medina Township Fire Department Women’s Auxiliary, Alternative Paths, Westfield Junior PGA and the Westfield Women’s Club. She enjoyed playing golf, gardening and playing cards. Irene also enjoyed cheering on the Cavs, Indians and Browns. She cherished her time with her family and friends.
Irene is survived by her loving daughter and son-in-law, Gail and Marc Houk; cherished grandchildren, Sarah Carmon and Von Houk and her dear sister, Jennie Chuckta.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles Riddleburgh and her sisters, Ida Powanda, Jeanette Secor and Julia Kelly.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held 11 A.M., Thursday, May 21, 2015, at Holy Martyrs Catholic Church, 3100 S. Weymouth Rd., Medina. The family will receive friends from 10 until 11 A.M., Thursday, before Mass at the church. Burial will take place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery at a later date.
The family wishes to thank the wonderful, compassionate staff who cared for Irene at Medina Hospital, The Avenue of Medina, and Hospice of Medina County.
