Evelyn I. Mack, 90, a resident of Medina, passed away Saturday, March 28, 2015. She was born March 10, 1925, to Nelson and Minnie (nee Peterman) Shaulis in Somerset, Pennsylvania.
Evelyn was a member of Medina area; The Church of Jesus Christ, Moose Women’s Club Lodge 968, Eagles Auxiliary Post 2224 and VFW Auxiliary Post 5137. She enjoyed gardening, embroidery, and most of all, her large loving family. Many people who knew Evelyn would go to Jam Bar in Medina, where she worked for 20 years. She also was a server at the Moose Club. Evelyn married Merle Mack and raised seven children.
She will be missed by her children, Ruth Ann Stetz (friend, John), Merle (Brenda), Idella (Raymond) Gilbert, Gloria (James) Schultz, Joseph (Elizabeth), Karen (Carl) Hatfield; 16 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; four great great-grandchildren; brother, James Shaulis; sisters, Betty Hamer and Emma Moore and many extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Merle; daughter, Linda; brothers, Charles, John, William and sister, Mary Emos.
Visitation for family and friends will be held Thursday, April 2, 2015 from 2 until 4 and 6 until 8 P.M., at Carlson Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, 3477 Medina Road (corner of River Styx and Rt. 18), Medina. Funeral Service will follow at 8 P.M., with Pastor Karen Leidy officiating. The family also invites friends to additional visitation Friday, April 3, from 6 until 8 P.M. and Saturday, April 4, from 10 until 11 A.M., with Service to follow, at Robert Halverson Funeral Home, 476 W. Main St. Somerset, Pennsylvania 15501, Burial will be in Sipesville Cemetery.
