James William Henry, 60, of Lodi, passed away peacefully in his sleep to enter eternal rest with his Lord and Savior Monday, March 16, 2015. Jim was born in Oskaloosa, Iowa on July 3, 1954 to his surviving parents, John and Helen (Brown) Henry of Lodi.
He graduated from Cloverleaf High School in 1972 and made Lodi his home for most of his life. Jim loved the outdoors and was an exceptional photographer, especially of birds in their natural surroundings. He was very knowledgeable about astronomy and took amazing pictures of galaxies and stars. He was an avid ham radio operator and enjoyed talking to people from all over the world. He loved to read and was a walking, talking encyclopedia on a myriad of subjects. He was also a gun enthusiast and enjoyed target shooting.
Jim will be greatly missed by his parents, John and Helen Henry of Lodi; brothers and sisters, Steve (Donna) Henry of Circleville, Jeff (Mary) Henry of Lodi, Carroll (Dean) Weinbroer of Valley City, Fritz (Jackie) Henry of West Salem, Bill (Mindy) Henry of Polk, Sheryl (Jeff) Homonai of Medina, Debby (Dale) Klinect of West Salem; many nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Reverend Amos and Ruby Henry.
A memorial service will be Saturday, March 21, 2015, at 11 A.M., at the First Congregational Church, 114 Church St., Lodi. The Reverend David Dake and Steve Henry will officiate. Visitation will be Friday, March 20, 2015 from 4 until 8 P.M., at the Parker & Son Funeral Home, 210 Medina St., Lodi, and also one hour prior to the memorial service on Saturday at the church.
