Weiland_JohnAA - don't move -OBIT FLAGJohn Weiland, 92, of Cleveland, has been reunited with his loving wife of 68 years, June, in the Kingdom of God on Wednesday, December 17, 2014.

John, a proud and loving father and decorated WWII veteran, is survived by his son, Michael Weiland (Claire); and daughters, Sandra Munshower, Debbie Donner (Dave), Constance Hargis (Robert), Diana Ables (Randy); 12 cherished grandchildren and 10 cherished great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mary, John was most recently a dedicated member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Hinckley.

Growing up during the Depression, John went to work before finishing high school to help support the family. When he was old enough, John enlisted in the United States Army. He spent three years in Europe and fought in several WWII invasions, including Normandy on D-Day and was awarded four bronze stars. John worked for many years as a safety award winning local and over-the-road truck driver and was a proud member of the Teamsters Union. John’s pleasures included his children and grandchildren, playing the drums as a member of the Lenny Zadel polka band, polka dancing, playing cards and his most favorite activity, boating and fishing in Lake Erie and the many lakes of Michigan.

Funeral Service at the Funeral Home on Monday, December 22, 2014 at 12 Noon. Interment at Sunset Memorial Park, North Olmsted. Friends may call at the Busch Funeral Home, 7501 Ridge Rd., Parma, (440) 842-7800, from 1 to 3 and 5 to 7 P.M., Sunday, December 21, 2014 and also from 11 A.M. to 12 Noon, Monday prior to the service.

If you choose, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in John’s honor, to Our Savior Lutheran Church, 1605 Center Rd., Hinckley, OH 44233.
