Kenneth Sydney Christmas, 81, of Brunswick, passed away peacefully Tuesday, November 4, 2014, surrounded by his family. He was born June 26, 1933, in Farmington, Michigan, to the late Sydney and Nellie (nee McGregory) Christmas.
Ken was a veteran of the United States Army, who proudly served his country during the Korean Conflict. From there he went to work as an instrument repairman for Ford Motor Co., retiring in 1987. He will be most remembered as being an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and golfing.
Ken will be greatly missed by his beloved wife of 56 years, Shirley (nee Brown); his adoring children, Mary (David) Short, Karen (Bill) Roloff, David (Betty) Christmas, and Judy (Chris) Scherry; his 12 cherished grandchildren; his 27 treasured great-grandchildren; his loving sisters, Donna (Art) Romig and Beverly (John, deceased) Hurni; and many extended family and friends.
The family will receive friends Sunday, November 9, from 2 until 5 P.M., at Waite and Son Funeral Home, 3300 Center Rd., Brunswick. A service will be held in Ken’s honor Monday, November 10, at 10:30 A.M., with a visitation one hour prior, at the funeral home, with the Reverend Carson Hall officiating. A private interment will take place at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman, at a later date.
