Shannon Danielle Bitskay, 13, of Creston, crossed over peacefully Thursday morning, October 16, 2014 at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital surrounded by her family. Shannon was born at home on March 1, 2001, to Mark and Jeanine Fedorko Bitskay.
She was a member of the Eighth Grade Class at Norwayne Middle School. Shannon played soccer for Norwayne Youth and for Wooster Edge Soccer and played basketball for Norwayne. She enjoyed doing crafts, art and was very creative. She touched the hearts of the community and all that she met through her life’s journey and during her illness. Her love and her sweet spirit will live on in those that she met.
Surviving are her parents, Mark and Jeanine; her older sister, Nicole and younger brother, Nathan; grandmothers, Betty Fedorko of Portage, Pennsylvania and Sandra Gombault of Hamburg, New York; step-grandmother, Amelia Fedorko of Altoona, Pennsylvania; aunts and uncles, Tami and Victor Stepankoski, Tracey and Joseph LaJudice, Jeffrey and Cindy Fedorko, Lydia and John Kachur, Steve and Karen Fedorko and Lisa and Robert Style and cousins, Larissa, Kyle, Kristina, Alysha, Alexandra and Samantha.
She was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Steve Fedorko and Jerome Gombault.
Friends may call Monday, October 20, 2014 from 3 to 8 P.M. at Murray Funeral Home, 173 S. Main St., Creston. A celebration of Shannon’s life will be held Tuesday, October 21, 2014 at 2 P.M. at Genesis Party Center, 10265 Wooster Pike, Creston.
