Nellie Jean Renner, 91, of Sharon Center, passed away Wednesday, October 1, 2014. She was born the daughter of Jim and Mary Porter of Granger, on August 30, 1923.
Nellie, who was never idle, spent time loving and caring for her family, looking after her friends and neighbors and pulling every weed in Sharon Center. She was an avid gardener, an exceptional wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister an cook (her cookie jar was never empty).
She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Bill (Vivian), Bruce, Norm (Chastity); daughters-in-law, Janet and Susie; 16 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Donna Frase and Nola Anderson.
Nellie was preceded in death by her husband, Bud; sons, Jim and Paul; grandson, Michael Scott; granddaughter, Brenda Nell; sisters, Mae Dreibelbis, Lucille Burton; brother, Leroy Porter; and close friend, Edmond Siennicki.
A memorial service will be held at Granger Methodist Church, 1235 Granger Rd., Medina, at 11 A.M., Friday, October 17, 2014. Friends may join the family for visitation one hour prior to the service.
