Dorothy E. Gift, 82, of Congress, died Friday, August 22, 2014 at Akron City Hospital in Akron. She was born June 4, 1932 in Lodi, the daughter of William and Goldie (Lowe) Weber.
Dorothy retired from Johnson Brothers Rubber Company in West Salem after 20 years. Then she and her husband drove as a team form Panther Transportation for eight years.
She is survived by her husband, Donald P. Gift, whom she married September 11, 1953; five children, Butch (Penny) Gift of Medina, Tina Gift, Jeff Gift and Cherri Estep, all of Congress; eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; and a sister, Betty Wightman of Congress.
Her parents; a son; Dennis; infant daughter, Dedra; and four brothers died previously.
Funeral Services will be 11 A.M., Tuesday, August 26, 2014 at the Matteson Funeral Home, West Salem. Friends will be received Monday evening, August 25, 2014 from 7 to 9 P.M. in the funeral home. Burial will be in Congress Cemetery.
