Eric “Rick” Lee Watson, Sr., 55, of Medina, passed away surrounded by his family, Sunday, August 10, 2014. He was born February 23, 1959 in Ashland.
Rick was so determined to win the battle against Melanoma Cancer; he never gave up. He did not want to leave his family behind. He was a loving family man who also liked NASCAR and the Cleveland Indians. Rick was a dedicated employee for over 25 years with Shiloh Industries in Valley City. He also was a skilled “handyman”, always willing to help a friend in need.
Rick will be missed by his loving wife of 25 years and best friend, Kelly; son, Eric, Jr.; daughters, Lindy Hughes, Samantha and Jaclyn Watson; grandchildren, Ethan, Mason, Avalee, and Emanuel; his parents, Charles and Barbara (nee Haberman) Watson; brother, Charles, Jr. (Kathy); sister, Valerie (Dino) DeNero; also including his sisters-in-law, Susan Watson, Donna (Glenn) Winemiller, Lynda (Terry) Shoulders, Dawn (Dave) Knight, Kristine (Mike) Prochaska, Faye (Rob) Rivera; brother-in-law, Howie Seipel and many treasured nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Greg and special mother-in-law, Noreen Seipel.
Friends may join the family for Visitation Thursday, August 14, 2014 from 3 until 8 P.M., at Carlson Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, 3477 Medina Road, (corner of River Styx and Rt. 18) Medina. A 10 A.M. Funeral Service will be held Friday, August 15, 2014, at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 1330 N. Carpenter Road, Brunswick. The Reverend Paul Lintern will officiate. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery.
