Ward Wesley Bowman, on Tuesday, August 5, 2014, slipped free from the entangling bonds of this life into the eternal presence of his Savior, Jesus Christ. John 3:16, “For God so loved the world, that He sent His only Son, (Jesus Christ), that whosoever would believe in Jesus would have everlasting life (would forever be in the presence of God). Ward believed! Ward was just over 100 years old.
He is survived by June, (97), his beloved wife of 77 years; three sons, Allen (married to Judith-also in the presence of Jesus), Wayne, married to Gail, and Tom, married to Karen; 10 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; Three great-great grandchildren and youngest brother, Earl.
Ward was born March 24, 1914 in Hinckley, Ohio and lived on the family farm for 97 of his 100 years. He was the founder of Hillside Orchard (1948) which was part of the original family farm. The farm continues to be the family business operated by Allen and his son, Scott (second and third generation). Sons Wayne and Tom are retired.
Ward attended Case school of Applied Sciences (now Case Western Reserve). While operating Hillside Orchard, he worked for General Motors for 32 years.
Ward was a man of strong conviction. He had a stalwart work ethic that has become his legacy and has been passed onto his three sons. Faith, family, and determination to preserver through the highs and lows enabled him to endure through 100 years of life. His faith was reflected in his life and his resolute trust in Jesus was his daily strength.
