Bette Anne Clay, widow of Lee Clay, died Sunday, June 8, 2014, at Tidelands Hospice. She was born March 15, 1924 in Chicago, Illinois, a daughter of the late Norman and Elizabeth McCaffrey Berg.
Mrs. Clay and her husband retired to Myrtle Beach in 1979, where she was instrumental in building St. Michael’s parish in Garden City.
Survivors include her children, James Clay and his wife, Susan of Westfield Center and Tina Marie Kahle and her husband, Bob of Newton, New Jersey; and four grandchildren, Amanda Lee and Kathryn Jane Clay, and Tyler Lee and Jesse Dean Kahle.
A memorial mass will be held at St. Michael Catholic Church on Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at 10 A.M.
