Edwin James Reynolds, 79, passed away Sunday, March 16, 2014. Ed grew up in Chippewa Lake, and was a 1952 graduate of Westfield High School.
He then enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, where he served for 21 years, including one tour in Vietnam, retiring as a Chief Master Sergeant. Among other military decorations, he was awarded the Bronze Star and Soldier’s Medal for heroism. From 1982 to 1993, Ed and his wife, Carmen, owned and operated Alterations Unlimited in Fairborn, Ohio, where they provided military clothing alterations for Wright-Patterson AFB personnel. He and Carmen then relocated to the McAllen, Texas area, where they lived their retirement years.
Ed was preceded in death by his wife, Carmen; sons, Mike and Dave; parents, Russell and Alma Reynolds; and brother, Bill.
He is survived by his wife, Virgie Harper Reynolds; sons, Rick and Ed; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brother, Tom; and sisters, Linda Reynolds Hange and Cindy Reynolds Miller.
A memorial service was held at Grand View Memorial Park, Pasadena, Texas, Saturday, March 29, 2014.
