James Walter Brooker, 86, of Medina, passed away peacefully Wednesday February 26, 2014. He was born March 14, 1927, to the late James and Hilda Brooker in Berea.
Jim’s lifetime work was in construction and building as a bricklayer. He will be remembered for his love of fishing, golf, crossword puzzles and gardening. He was also a member of the Society of Air Racing Historians. Jim proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII in the Pacific Theater.
Jim is survived by his beloved wife, Margaret Page Brooker of 61 years; his loving daughter, Hallie Page Brooker; his loving son-in-law, Eric Conrad; and grandchildren, Caitlin Elizabeth Greene (nee Conrad), Lauren Paige Conrad; and great-grandson, Dawson James Greene.
He was preceded in death by his eldest daughter, Elizabeth Brooker Conrad.
Inurnment, with military honors, will be held at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, 10175 Rawiga Road, Rittman, Friday April 25, 2014, at 1 P.M. Please gather at the cemetery office by 12:45 P.M. Cremation by Busch Crematory. 440-842-7800. www.buschcares.com
