Alvin P. Boryk

Alvin P. Boryk, 87, of Valley City, passed away Sunday, October 7, 2012. He was born September 16, 1925, to the late Alexander and Mary (nee Yetician) in Cleveland.

Alvin proudly served his country during WWII in the U.S. Navy. He retired from Eskay Flooring. Alvin was a member of the Carpenters Union Local #254, Valley City VFW Post #5563 and the PLAV (Polish League of American Veterans). He was also a Cub Scout Leader and a youth football coach. Alvin enjoyed gardening but mostly loved walking his dogs and spending time at his cottage on Kelley’s Island fishing.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Audrey; loving children, Judy Boryk of Florida, Cindy Owsiak (Ray) of Valley City, Dan Boryk of South Carolina, Ron Boryk (fianc Rachael) of Richfield, Eileen St. Aubin (Brian) of Georgia, Tim Boryk of Florida, Mike Boryk of Wisconsin and Patty Taylor (Stephen) of Brunswick; 16 cherished grandchildren; 17 treasured great-grandchildren; brothers, Ted and Stanley Boryk; and sister, Sophie Paul.

Alvin is preceded in death by his son, Ken; and brother, Mike.

Memorial visitation will be held Wednesday, October 10, 2012, from 2 until 4 and 6 until 9 P.M., at Waite and Son Funeral Home, 3300 Center Road, Brunswick 44212. Memorial service will take place Wednesday at 8:30 P.M. in the funeral home. Military burial will be held at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, Thursday, October 11, 2012, at 1:30 P.M. Please meet at the front gate of the cemetery at 1:15 P.M.

Contributions may be made in Alvin’s memory to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, or to the Hospice of Medina County (5075 Windfall Road, Medina 44256).
