Rozelle Purdum, 100, passed away Saturday, October 6, 2012, in Medina. Rozelle was born August 26, 1912, in Forrest City, Arkansas, to the late Thomas and May (Brown)Fallis.
Rozelle enrolled at the University of California and the University of Tulsa, where she earned her Master’s Degree in nursing. She had varied talents, even attending art school and venturing into teaching. Her philosophy in life is to think positive and “enjoy the life God has given you.”
Rozelle was the mother of Evelyn Halvorsen of Texas; grandmother of Aaron Hall, Stephanie (Mark) Wilson and Hillori Hager; great-grandmother of Reeve Wilson; sister of Thomasina Plott of Oklahoma; and dear friend of Reverend Willie J. and Mary Springer.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold “Hal” Purdum in 2011; her parents; brother, Rayford Fallis; and sisters, Bernita Baily and Coyne Fallis.
Graveside service will be held 10:30 A.M., Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, 10175 Rawiga Rd., Rittman, 44270. Reverend Willie Springer, from Second Baptist Church, will officiate. Kindly meet at the Waite & Son Funeral Home at 9:45 A.M., Wednesday.
