Hallie M. Hetrick

Hallie M. Hetrick (nee Kocher), passed away Wednesday, August 28, 2013. She was born in Lindsey, Ohio, April 26, 1917 and was a Medina resident for 68 years.

Hallie was a secretary and office manager at Gowe Printing, Bliss & Laughlin Steel and Medina City Hall. She attended art school in New York City during World War II and was very talented as a painter on canvas, wood, china and slate.

She was a member of King’s Daughters in Medina and St. Matthew Lutheran church. She was an avid golfer and member of the ladies league at Bunker Hill for many decades.

Hallie was always smiling and cheerful and had many friends. She was a devout Christian and a faithful believer who now looks forward to being reunited with her husband for eternity.

She is survived by her daughter, Judi Chamberlain of Cleveland Heights; son, Gary Hetrick (Sally) of Medina; grandchildren, Todd Chamberlain of Cleveland and Lisa Chamberlain of New York City; and great-grandchildren, Lelia and Simone.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and by her husband of 62 years, Clifford L. Hetrick; brother, Maurice Kocher; and sister, Evelyn Mielke.

The family will receive friends Friday, August 30, 2013 from 12 Noon to 2 P.M., at the Waite & Son Funeral Home, 765 N. Court St., Medina. A private graveside service will be held.

The family suggest contributions be made to St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 400 N. Broadway, Medina, OH 44256.
