Richard “Rick” H. Thomsen, 50, passed away at home Saturday, August 3, 2013, after a courageous battle with cancer. His loving family was by his side.
Rick was founder of Pizzazio’s Pizza and had a strong work ethic. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, a member of the Wadsworth Moose 2070 and a lifelong member of the V.F.W. Rick attended Corner Stone Chapel of Medina. He was a dedicated father and loved all of his family very much. He enjoyed listening to a variety of music and was an avid dirt and asphalt track race fan.
Rick was born December 28, 1962 in Sandusky, the son of Betty Davis and Helmut Thomsen.
He is survived by his mother, Betty Davis and stepfather, Richard Davis of Florida; the love of his life, Lisa Thomsen of Medina; his children, Tara Thomsen of North Royalton, Corey Thomsen of Florida, Chris (Katie) Roberts of Medina, Tommy Roberts of Florida (children of Kay Kunda); and sons, Michael Thomsen of Medina, Bradley Cardwell of Medina and Chris (Jordan) Walters of Missouri (children of Lisa Thomsen); grandchildren, Haidyn and Brailynn Walters; sisters, Robin (Randy) Burroughs of Findlay, Kelly Snyder of Florida; brothers, George Snyder III of Florida, Justin (Lori) Harris of Sandusky, Jeremy Harris of Kentucky; and many more aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Helmut; and infant sister, Kim Thomsen; and his grandparents.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday August 8, 2013, at 12:30 P.M., at Waite and Son Funeral Home, 765 N. Court St., Medina, where friends may call Wednesday, August 7, 2013, 4 until 8 P.M., at the funeral home. Burial, with military honors, will be at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
